I’m Anna, a clothing designer, maker and creative based between the South East of Kent and London. I’ve spent over 20 years working as a theatrical costume maker, alongside five years as a technical tutor at the University for the Creative Arts.

I love helping people discover the confidence and skills to make clothes of their own. As an experienced pattern drafter, garment maker and tutor, I can guide you through everything from understanding how a garment is constructed and creating your own patterns, to turning an idea in your head into something you will actually want to wear.

Whether you’re just starting out, want to develop your existing skills, or have a particular garment you’ve always wanted to make, I’ll share my knowledge in a friendly, practical and encouraging way, helping you to bring your ideas to life.

Join me in my tutoring studio in Broadstairs, Kent, for practical, hands-on sewing courses designed to give you the skills, confidence and knowledge to make beautiful clothes for yourself.

We’ll start with the foundations of good sewing, from understanding your machine and working with fabric through to accurate cutting, garment construction, pattern drafting and professional finishing techniques. You’ll learn not just how to follow a pattern, but how to understand why a garment is constructed in a particular way, giving you the confidence to adapt, alter and eventually create your own.

My courses are relaxed, friendly and supportive, with plenty of time to ask questions, practise techniques and develop your skills at your own pace. Whether you’re completely new to sewing or looking to take your existing skills further, I’ll help you build a strong technical foundation and learn how to achieve a beautifully finished, professional-looking garment.
